Ten has been named as winner of Luxury Travel Retail Business of the Year, marking our commitment to customers during the toughest of times. We were crowned on Friday during the TTG Luxury Travel Awards 2022, held in London and hosted by the luxury travel sector’s leading magazine, TTG Luxury.

All entrants had to submit a detailed entry submission covering many areas, including their steps over the past year to maintain operations, take care of customers and their own staff, as well as show how they run a Smarter, Better, Fairer business, in line with TTG’s own core purpose.

A panel of judges said: “Ten Lifestyle Group was indeed Smarter Better Fairer in its approach to the pandemic, and didn’t just survive, it thrived. Deposits were returned in full, unprompted and without offering Refund Credit Vouchers, to every single customer who saw a trip cancelled. This won the business huge levels of trust and record levels of repeat bookings coming out of the pandemic, with travel sales 40% above 2019 levels in September, October and November 2021. Clients were also kept engaged with amazing ideas such as photography competitions, while a huge emphasis was placed on looking after Ten’s staff.”

CEO Alex Cheatle said: It was fantastic to win the TTG Luxury Travel Retail Business of the Year award, we are proud and humbled by the recognition. At Ten, we put our members’ interests at the forefront of everything we do and we believe that by being member-centric, all facets of the service, our travel partners, proposition and how our Travel team serve our members falls into place. Like everyone else in the travel trade, we look forward to the full return of international travel as the world recovers from COVID-19 so we can continue serving our members, who appreciate the personalised service, value and convenience that they can’t find elsewhere.

TTG Luxury editor April Hutchinson said: “The TTG Luxury Travel Awards – launched in 2018 and returning in 2022 after a pandemic pause – celebrate travel companies and travel professionals who put customers at the heart of their business, and who have responded to the challenges of the last 12 months by making positive changes to their product, service and culture.”

“The travel industry has been through an incredibly difficult period since the pandemic started, and we were humbled by the volume and quality of entries for the awards, with all companies, including Ten Lifestyle Group, showing incredible resilience to continue operations. In total, we had more than 150 entries across the luxury travel industry for the awards, and we congratulate all finalists and winners on taking home a trophy today in such difficult times. They can be incredibly proud of their achievement.”

The TTG Luxury Travel Awards took place on Friday 4 March, 2022 at Rosewood London.

The lunchtime awards ceremony was attended by 230 travel industry figures and celebrated suppliers of travel across 14 categories.

The full list of winners and more information on the awards initiative can be found online.

The TTG Luxury Travel Awards were started in 2018, as the trade’s first multi-sector recognition programme, and represent a celebration of the best luxury travel suppliers across aviation, hotels, tour operating and cruise, and the best luxury travel agencies and advisors in the business. Winners submit detailed written entries, which are decided by a panel of expert industry judges.
